2025: In Review

Hanif Adedotun

I feel very empty writing this, not because I didn't achieve what I set out this year, but more so because life took a 180° turn, I found myself juggling the Nigerian imposed service year and my full time remote job.

Growth and Learning

I learned a lot this year, especially from working as a Teaching Assistant at a university — it was a great experience, almost like cosplaying as a lecturer.

I was far more intentional about my professional life: creating structure in my daily tasks as an engineer, and being deliberate about delivering work with attention to detail.

That intentionality paid off, earning me a promotion to Lead Software Engineer.

While I did not read as many books as I planned — four out of ten — it was still a year of meaningful growth.

Achievements

Looking at my win list, I definitely had some good moments:

> Managed three projects from idea to launch at work

> Built an AI powered unit test case generator Hiro

> Built an AI powered headline agent

> Invited to speak at four different events

> Got featured in an interview by NTA

> Pitched Neurosync (my startup) to everyone willing to listen at OSCAfest

> Got a contract role at a web3 company

> Got a contract to build an AI solution for the Government

> Got promoted to a lead Engineer

> I met all my financial goals

Looking Forward

Going into 2026, I just have two guiding actions words, Visibility and Volume.

See you all same time next year! 🥂
